52 weeks of gratitude: the city of blacksburg, va

check out all the prompts here!

i did not appreciate blacksburg when i was here for undergrad. i didn't think there wasn't much to do besides eat and drink, and if you travel to certain parts that are deep within the town, you can definitely run into people that aren't too pleased to see people of color (i learned that during a few community service projects -- the irony...).
a lot of my disdain for blacksburg coincided with my anger at attending the school when i really wanted to be somewhere else. but that is not how i wanted to approach my graduate education here. my mindset is most certainly different, and i truly, truly appreciate blacksburg now that i have changed my perspective.

the mountains are gorgeous...

the winter here is gorgeous...

the campus is gorgeous...

the food and drinks are amazing...

and for the most part, the people are absolutely amazing.
while i used to wonder what could have been had i gone somewhere else, i now feel extremely blessed to be someplace that feels like home.

Oh, it definitely is. And it's family-style all-you-can-eat!
