52 weeks of gratitude x2: a family member (pt. 1)

i am a week behind on my gratitude challenge because of my unplanned blog break, but i am excited to be doubly grateful this week!

since i have such a close-knit family, it was hard for me to focus on just one family member for whom i'm grateful. but since i'm a serious daddy's girl, i think it comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me that i chose to write about my daddy!

similar to the previous "my family is the best" argument, i literally know no person who is better than my dad. he is the best dad/man/human ever.
there is honestly no way to describe how much he does for people, whether they are family, friends, strangers, or "enemies" (though he would never call them that). he is incredibly humble, generous, and wise.

my brother and i always used to groan over the sermon-long life lessons he would give us, but i have found that everything he shared has been true. and even though i didn't appreciate what he said at the time, he never gave up on trying to impart his knowledge to me. he has gotten me out of a myriad of sticky situations, and he has never once held my transgressions against me or judged me.

he is my fellow wine connoisseur, the willing victim of all of my practical jokes and pranks, and the person i know will always listen with a mind towards both compassion and finding solutions. my life would be a mere iota of what it is today were it not for him.

bonus: he's also a great dancer and a horrible joke-teller. what's not to like?

This is the absolute sweetest - and it makes me miss my daddy.
I get to see him in a month or whenever this baby comes and I can't wait!

Awww! Your dad rocks chica! You're so blessed to have him! I hope that you sent him this link. If you did--chances are that he's smiling EVEN better right now!

Daddies are the absolute best! I'm so happy that I am a lot closer to home so I can visit whenever I want :)

I didn't send him the link yet, but I think I will sometime in the future when he really needs it :)

Cool name! :) thanks so much for sharing this at Spiritual Sundays. It was great reading it because you gave me hope that my kids will someday remember our super long life lessons with fondness!

Come back soon!

Oh this is so sweet! I love how so many people would argue that their Dad/family is the best. I think God put us all in our families for a reason :)
