#fitnessfriday: fitness confessions 2.0

so... remember how i started the simply filling technique with weight watchers?
oh, i filled up alright....

i have been a binger for pretty much the last 21 years of my life, so i don't know why i thought things would be any different just because i was eating brown rice and beans.
sike.
i was still binging, and once i did that enough times with "health food," i eventually got bored and started binging on everything.

i'm tired of dieting!!!!

i love FOOD, and i need variety!
and i loved how "free" i thought i was on low carb because i got to binge as much as i wanted and not gain weight. but as soon as i looked at a potato, 5 lbs packed on immediately.
i literally just do not know how to eat like a normal person. changing the food to low carb only worked for so long before i got bored.

so, in thinking about the ONLY time i was successful eating anything i wanted and keeping it off, i remembered weigh down. it's what i followed back then, and it not only improved my relationship with food (food wasn't this thing i constantly thought about - i wake up immediately thinking about what i want to eat now!), but also my relationship with god.
i tried intuitive eating, which is based upon the same principles as weigh down, but i think the lack of the spiritual aspect is what really kept me from being successful on IE.

i am a firm believer that the mind, body, and spirit work together. and so, i confess that my ideas of food and health are completely jacked. moreover, i confess that i need help, and i am not too proud to pray about it!

I will definitely give some updates on Weigh Down, but so far, things have been going really well!

I'm like you. I love food and need variety. I remember a few years back when i was eating better and counting calories I got so board with the food I was eating. I lost weight but the diet didn't last long. Now every time I think about healthier eating I think how boring my meals will be which will ultimately lead me to a big juicy burger and fries. LOL! I've got to change my minds set. Looking forward to your results on this new challenge.

I also believe the mind, body and spirit work together. I'm glad you are figuring out what will work for you - I think that's the key. Your GIF's had me howling tho! lol

Happy to hear you are praying about it. Stay strong you will figure it out. I am skeptical of low carb or any lifestyle that eliminates an entire food group. I look forward to your updates.

I totally feel you! The food restriction is really not helping if I end up binging later. Plus, I am learning that it's not the food's fault that I'm fat. It's my overindulging and overeating that is the problem, and that is what I need to address.
